Sainath Choudhury and Unnati Agarwal are a director-producer duo with over two decades of combined experience in the media industry.
Sainath’s journey started in 2005 with a series of award-winning shorts like ‘Cataract’, for which he was handpicked by Walter Salles, and ‘Village Football’, part of the World Cup FIFA2006 Official Artistic & Cultural Program. He went on to establish Purple Vishnu Films in 2011 to address a gap in the Indian advertising landscape, scripting and creating high-quality, narrative-led ad films.
Unnati graduated from NID with a degree in Film & Video Communication. She went on to produce dozens of domestic and international print editorials, music videos and commercials as a freelance producer with photographers like Ryan McGinley and Nadine Ijewere and directors like Gal Muggia & Vania Heymann. She joined Purple Vishnu Films in 2018 as a full-time producer and the creative powerhouse of Unnati and Sainath was born.
Together, the pair have travelled and shot across the length and breadth of India, from deserts to mountains, forests to forts, cities to villages, and everything else in between. Along with their trusted team, they express their love for India through film and now offer their expertise through Mustard Films, a line production house designed to help international crews navigate the beauty and chaos of India.
